Step 1: Explore the Program
- Understand the Program: Before diving in, get to know what Virginia Ready Scholars and the Scholar Journey are all about. Visit the Virginia Ready Scholars Program page for detailed insights.
Step 2: Account Registration
Create Your Virginia Ready Account: It's time to start your journey! Register on the Scholar Registration page with:-
Your frequently checked email address

Your first and last name

A secure password
Note: We mainly use email as our primary mode of communication. Feel free to use a personal email address that maintains a professional tone!
Step 3: Access the Scholar Portal
- Your New Hub: Once registered, the Scholar Portal becomes your central point for all things Virginia Ready.
- Review Key Info: Spend some time getting familiar with the Scholar Portal. It's packed with useful information!
Step 4: The Eligibility Form
- Getting Started: Click the teal “Complete the Eligibility Form” button on your Dashboard to begin.
- Fill in Carefully: Pay close attention to each question, providing thorough answers. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk.

Step 5: Meeting the Eligibility Requirements

Post-Eligibility Steps: Once you meet the eligibility criteria, a pop-up will prompt you to complete the scholar application. Make sure to follow this link without closing the pop-up.

Backup Plan: Closed the pop-up by mistake? No worries, you'll receive an email with a link to continue.

Deadline Alert: Complete the Virginia Ready Application before your class begins, or within the first 5 calendar days of the course.
Step 6: Kickstart the Application
- Initial Requirements: Take the next step! To pass Milestone 1, make sure to complete the Eligibility Form and the Virginia Ready Application before or within the first 5 calendar days of your course.
- Documentation: Keep your class registration information close by, as you'll need it here. You may also need a document to prove you have lived in Virginia for at least one year.
Note: Please be sure to fill out the required information in each section of the Scholar Application.
Note: Review the Scholar Agreement and Expectations, check the boxes, and click "Apply" once all required fields are completed.
